One of the greatest things about a birthday party is the gifts. Sure it is nice to have friends over and spending time together is great, but when else would you ever be able to get a present for not doing anything? I mean, all you have to do is show up and once a year (if you are nice) you get a party and gifts. Pretty sweet deal.

I have written often on the idea of budgeting. Basically, the most important tool to financial success (for most people) is a budget. Whether you are using paper and pencil, a spreadsheet or Quicken, living on a budget is the single best thing you can do to get your finances under control.

MoneyNing has a great post this week giving a detailed review of a budgeting software package called “You Need A Budget”. In addition to the review, he is giving away a copy of “You Need A Budget”. Jim over at Bargaineering is offering an opportunity to win a $50 gift card to Home Depot just for leaving a comment about the project you have been putting off. Most people have at least one thing around the house that needs to be done, and has needed to be done for quite some time.

I know it is a weird title for a post, but let me say that I didn’t come up with this title myself. It is actually the title for book that David, over at MoneyNing reviewed this week.
