I just had my annual checkup and I am happy to report that everything checked out very well. My cholesterol was 189, blood pressure was very good and the doctor said I was pretty healthy. He said to get a little bit of exercise and plan on coming back in a year.
Just like getting a clean bill of health at the doctor, we should strive for a good financial check up also. There are a lot of different criteria for determining how healthy your finances are. Some will use your net worth as the primary indicator, while others will look more closely at your debt to income ratio. I am sure there are a lot of other ways to determine if you are doing a good job maintaining a healthy financial picture.
CNNMoney has a health meter that asks several questions and then assigns a grade to your situation. I am happy to report that we got an A , but there are still things we can do better. One is to increase our retirement savings. I agree we could probably be doing more, but we are currently saving for college, next years cruise and some home repairs.
All in all I am pretty happy with where we are. What about you? What type of grade did you get?

I am not happy with my grade on financial health. There is quiet a few things I have to work on until I am happy with my financial situations. Thank you for posting this so I could see where I was standing with my finances.
