How much is a trillion dollars?

March 15th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Fun Stuff

A large stack of money!

I am just about ready to stop talking about the bailouts, budgets and the massive spending bills that the congress and senate are passing and our new president is all to happy to sign into law. However, before I step off of this dead horse, I thought it would be a good idea to make sure everyone knew exactly what one trillion dollars looks like. Interestingly enough, even by writing the word ‘one trillion dollars’ we don’t get the true meaning of how large the number is. A better representation of the magnitude of the number is seen when it is written with numbers, like this: $1,000,000,000,000. That is twelve zeroes!

Anyway, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a pictorial description of $1,000,000,000,000 from PageTutor.com.
