More money saving tips

December 13th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Budgeting

LightbulbAs we get closer to the end of another year, I am reminded the one thing that never ends, is the opportunity to save money. I came across an article that lists 19 ways to slash your utility bill. Some of them you may have already taken care of but there are a few that over time will help minimize the amount of energy you use each day.

One of the easiest is to replace your light bulbs. We have started doing this with all of our lights. We are going to continue using the current bulbs, but as they need replacing we are replacing them with compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as a compact fluorescent light bulb or energy saving light bulb. The CFL will cost more at the store, but research has shown that because they use less electricity and last longer, you can save as much as $30 over the life of the bulb.
