The final step in Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps is to build wealth and give it away. That seems completely counter to what the world would teach, but as Christians, helping others should be one of the barometers by which we measure our spiritual health. There are over 2300 verses in the Bible that talk about giving, possessions or finance. That means there is more in the Bible about money than there is about faith. Why do you think that is true? I believe it is because God knew that if we would learn to handle money correctly, He could use us to impact the world in a great and positive way.
I came across this article on the Free Money Finance blog and thought it was pretty much dead on, so I wanted to share it with you. Remember, everything you have is because God has given you the strength, wisdom and/or ability to earn or acquire it. Essentially, it all belongs to Him, so let’s use it in a way that pleases Him. That means that we need to keep an open handed approach to personal finance. If you see an opportunity to help someone, and God has blessed you with the means to do so, then do it. Not because you expect anything in return, just because it makes God happy.
